This is a small selection of my favourite web sites.
Mirrors - My web pages on different computers, (just in case).

Mirror One - This is the master site which I always update first, seems to have the best speed, reliability and no advertisments.
Mirror Two - This is also a good site, but now has popup ads etc.
Mirror Three - Starting to look good as they offer ftp, cgi and ads are not to intrusive.
Linux Sites.
Slackware Linux - Slackware Linux is old, strong, no-fuss, reliable, configurable, up-to-date version of linux which runs on minimum hardware.
Apache - The best web server. Unix, free, configurable, most used.
Squid - The Unix web proxy. Unix, free, configuarable.
PostgreSQL - PostgreSQL is a sophisticated Object-Relational DBMS, supporting
almost all SQL constructs, including subselects, transactions, and user-defined types and functions.
It is the most advanced open-source database available anywhere. A cool ad-on to apache.
IP Masquerading - If you live behind a linux firewall like I do then you need this software so that you Windows clients can see the world.
PHP - PHP is a server-side, cross-platform, HTML embedded scripting language. A cool ad-on to apache.
Samba - Samba is an open source software suite that provides seamless file and print services to SMB/CIFS clients. Samba is freely available under the GNU General Public License. Make your Unix box act as a Windows print and file server for your windows 95/98 client on your local network.
Linux Kernel's - Get the lastest Linux kernel (Australian mirror).
Microsoft Windows Sites.
VET antivirus - Get your VET anitvirus updates here. The only place in town.
McAfee - Get the latest mcafee dat files from the only world-wide site.
Nortons Tools - Check out the latest norton tools.
Microsoft Home - Some times you just have to go there.
Microsoft MSDN - Go here to search the knowledgebase and find out if somebody else has fixed or found a work around for the windows bug that is annoying you.
Search Engines.
AltaVista - Solid search engine with a wide coverage.
Google - A good search engine providing lots of hits (not to many dead one to).
Download Sites
Australian Download mirror - Aarnet is a big Australian mirror with heaps of files. Fast, reliable, cheap. quote "Over 300 archives and more than 50 terabytes served since epoch!"
Download.com - A big American software archive. Always up to date, searchable, includes articles, descriptions and user opinions.
ZDnet - A big American software archive. Always up to date, searchable, includes articles, descriptions.
NO-Nags - Great source of shareware and freeware not on the big sites.
Two-Cows - Internet related software only. Lots of mirrors around the world.
Simtel - One of the original ftp then http software archives.
Cycling

Graham Fowler's Home Pages - Graham Fowler's Home Pages with pictures of his nephews Jay and Corey Sweet.
www.cyclingnews.com - Bill's Cycle Racing Results and News Service.
Norwood Cycling Club - The biggest strongest cycling club in town. Find out where next weeks Saturday Southern Combine race is. Email a nomination for the race.
SACF - South Australian Cycling Federation Web Site - Not all that up to date, maybe one day.

Netscape home - Check out the latest from Netscape.
Netscape Download - This is an Australian mirror with the latest downloads from Netscape.
Netscape Composer - I still use Netscape composer and a Text Editor to create my web pages so here is the latest information about composer.
Email - Web and POP3
fnmail - These people provide us with free web and pop3 email. Only a few ads, good speed, reliable but only One Meg of space. Filters out any large attachments.
MailandNews - Another great free web and pop3 email provider with 10 Meg of space per user (send any email with attachments to this provider please).
Eudora Web Mail - Web clients only. Nice interface.
Yahoo! Mail - Web and POP3 email provider (POP3 has conditions). Six Meg of disk space. Instant Messenger with chat.
Microsoft Hotmail - Can't live with it, can't live without it!.
Eudora Email Client - Find the latest Eudora client downloads from this site.
Books/Magazines
APC - Australian Personal Computer Magazine.
InformIT - Browsable books and IT news.
Jokes
Jokes - Free Jokes, look at the web pages or have a joke emailed to you each day.
Security
RootShell - Search for security holes in the OS you are using. Articles and patches.
Sun
Sun - Sun.Com home page.
Solaris - Sun Solaris home page.
Others

Netcomm - Australia's Leading Data Communications Products. They make good modem, by Australians for Australian conditions.
ABC - Australian Broadcasting Commision Online.
Weather
The Weather - Everybody needs to know what the weather is going to be. Even if they don't get it right.
Visual Basic
Carl & Visual Basic Web Site - Huge site with heaps of everything you might need when programming in VB.
